Yearbook of the “Constantin Brăiloiu” Institute of Ethnography and Folklore
MISSION
The „Yearbook of the «Constantin Brăiloiu» Institute of Ethnography and Folklore (“IEF Yearbook”), a publication of the Romanian Academy, has as its main mission the promotion of fundamental and applied research in the fields of Romanian folklore studies, ethnography, ethnomusicology, and ethnochoreology within European and global contextual frameworks.
OBJECTIVES
- The “IEF Yearbook” publishes original studies and analyses produced by researchers of the Institute of Ethnography and Folklore, as well as by their Romanian and international collaborators, exploring both expressions of traditional culture and modern cultural phenomena that fall within the sphere of ethnological inquiry.
- The “IEF Yearbook” promotes the scholarly dissemination of field research through the editing and publication of documents, analyses, and specialized studies that contribute to a deeper scientific and cultural understanding of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
- Through its sections Notes and Discussions, Reviews, and Portraits of Leading Scholars in the Field, the “IEF Yearbook” contributes to the development of scholarly debates.
