Digitalisation of the Romanian Academy's cultural heritage – European-funded project launched

The Romanian Academy launched the European-funded project „E-Patrimoniu: Digitalisation of Archives for Sustainable Development” on 26 January 2026.

Within the launch, the main coordinates were presented regarding the digitalisation of the heritage of the Cluj-Napoca Branch Library of the Romanian Academy and the creation of virtual tours for three cultural buildings in Bucharest: the „Ing. Dumitru Furnica-Minovici” Museum of Western Old Art, the „Acad. George Oprescu” Art Museum and the historic headquarters of the Romanian Academy (125 Calea Victoriei, Bucharest)

The project's overall objective is to create a robust, complex digital infrastructure to support the long-term preservation of the Romanian Academy's cultural heritage and its Cluj-Napoca Branch, while ensuring its accessibility and promotion at the national and international levels.

The project has a 36-month implementation period.
